Thanks Giving Day and Pumkin Pie

As a food blogger and food enthusiast today 28 th of November2013, I found that Thanks giving day food is Pumkin pie. Today is thanks giving day at USA and canada.

Thanks giving day means in this day people say thanks to god for all that they harvested in last one year and expecting a good year ahead.

This day people gather from different places to celebrate. So where ever celebration and people gathering occurs it will associated with some sort of food. (eg: Christmas and christmas cake).

Vermouth

Vermouth is actually an aromatized fortified wine flavored with various things from plants such as roots,barks,flowers,seeds,herbs,spices etc.But the main things which are used to aromatize the wine are herbs and spices.In earlier days they were not intentionally used these things to aromatize the wines apart from that the herbs and spices were originally used to mask the raw taste of cheaper wines,but later it becomes a new style and thus the concept of wine fortification with aromatic things especially from herbs and spices were arise.

vermouth is first produced in Italy during 18th century.Now the largest producers are Italy and France.Herbs which are used for the production of vermouth includes cardamom,cinnamon,marjoram and chamomile. Vermouth is also used as an alternative to white wine while cooking.Also used as a key ingredient in cocktails.Cocktails which are made by using vermouth are martini, manhattan, negroni, americano, broux, gibson, robroy, rose etc.

Angostura bitter

Angostura bitter or angostura is a concentrated bitter most often used to flavor beverages also it is used to flavor food very rarely.Actually it is a mixture of water,alcohol,herbs and spices.The importance of angostura bitter is that it is a key ingredient for many cocktails.

Poivron farcis (Bell pepper stuffed with pork,rice and egg)

It is a typical french dish.Its main ingredients are pork,rice and egg.Bell pepper is used to contain the stuffing made with these three ingredients.

Ingredients:

  1. 200gm salted pork.
  2. 300gm rice.
  3. 100gm parmesan cheese.
  4. 3 onion.
  5. 4 bell peppers.
  6. 4 eggs.
  7. 2 cloves.
  8. 6 basil leaves.
  9. 4 table spoon olive oil.
  10. salt.
  11. pepper.
Preparation:

  • Cut the top portion of each bell pepper where it's stalk attached to the stem of the plant and let them look like small pots and remove all the seeds and other things inside the bell pepper.
  • Preparation of stuffing(farce):  Heat the olive oil in a cooking pot,add chopped meat,chopped onion,chopped basil,sliced peppers and the uncooked rice.Stir until everything get hot,then add 3cups of water and allow it to boil.Cook on medium heat for 20 minutes.
  • Let the mixture get cool,then stir with beaten eggs,parmesan cheese,salt and pepper.
  • Stuff the bell peppers,lay them on their sides and bake in a low heat for 15 minutes on each side.

Irish coffee

Actually Irish coffee is a blend consisting of strong boiling coffee,Irish whisky and sugar along with thick cream as a topping.

How we can make irish coffee:

 Irish coffee for 4 serves.

Put 1 lump sugar in each of 4 stemmed heat proof glasses having 5-7 fl oz capacity.
Pour irish whisky over sugar,add hot coffee.
Float cream by pouring onto hot coffee over the back of a spoon.

Kinds of pie dishes.

pie is basically a baked dish in which,it's having a covering with pastry dough.
                 There are different kinds of pies,and it can be differentiate by it's crusts,that is a filled pie(single crust or bottom crust) has a pastry lining the baking dish,and the filling is placed on the top of the pastry but left open.Another one,that is a top crust pie also called as cobbler has the filling in the bottom of dish and is covered with a pastry or other covering before baking.The third variety called two crust pie has the filling completely enclosed in the pastry shell.

Will drinking coca cola after a heavy meal speed up digestion?

Last day my friend Devan told me that after a heavy meal drinking coca cola will speed up digestion. Is that true?


I had done a wide google search.

This is a kind of mith. There is no proof present to state the use of coca cola will speed up digestion.

And also that sugar inside coke will ad you more stuff to digest.

The frequent use of soda brings some problems. of course over use of anything will be unhealthy.
the main problems are:

  1. will be fatter.
  2. may be a reason for diabetic
  3. may bring heart problems.
  4. may lose your good health conditions.

i wont say stop using soda, better reduce conception. yes we love food and beverages.
