Fondue: a variant in food production and service

Fondue is a dish in which small pieces of food are dipped into a hot sauce or a hot cooking medium such as oil or broth, and is considered to evolve mainly from three countries, Switzerland, Italy and France.

Usually the medium is melted cheese, but nowadays fondue has been generalized to other dishes in which a food dipped into a communal pot of hot liquid.Examples are chocolate fondue,fondue bourguignonne etc.
